Calgary is in a state of ecstasy after the Flames dispatched the Vancouver Canucks to reach the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
Hockey fans spent much of Saturday night celebrating on 17th Avenue, better known as the "Red Mile," with cutouts of people such as coach Bob Hartley and team president Brian Burke, Yahoo! Puck Daddy reported.
The celebrations even reached into the Jack Singer Concert Hall, where the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir was performing Carl Orff's "Carmina Burana," which is famous for its epic opening movement, "O Fortuna."
The choir decided to have a little fun during an encore, altering the lyrics of "O Fortuna" to honour the team. And the audience was simply delighted.
Here are the lyrics, as shown on a board during the concert as members of the choir held Flames flags.
This isn't the first time the Calgary Philharmonic Choir has had a bit of fun with "O Fortuna." Check out what happened when they asked Calgarians to send their best winter warm-up tweets and put the suggestions to music:
