The Vancouver Canucks are paying tribute to legendary player and coach Pat Quinn at Tuesday's game against the New Jersey Devils.

The team will honour Quinn, who died Sunday night after a long battle with illness, with a moment of silence before the puck drop at Vancouver's Rogers Arena, according to a press release. A tribute video, which was posted to the Canucks' YouTube page Monday night, will also be played before the game.

Quinn's passing left the Vancouver hockey community mourning the loss of a man who had a steady hand in the Cancuks' success. The 71-year-old was a former player and coach for the team, and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame on November 17.

“Pat’s impact on our city has been immeasurable,” Canucks President Trevor Linden said in a statement Monday. “He brought the pride back to the Canucks and today his fingerprints and impact are still felt within this organization.”

Section 121 of Rogers Arena is being dedicated to Quinn for Tuesday's game, allowing fans to view images and videos of his time with the team (the memories can also be viewed online). Cancuks players are also going to wear "PQ" decals on their helmets for the remainder of the season.

Spectators are encouraged to arrive just before 7 p.m. to share in Tuesday's ceremonies. The Canucks said a larger tribute ceremony is being planned for another game later in the season.
