B.C.'s Simon Fraser University held a special Christmas Eve dinner Tuesday for the hundreds of international students who can't be home for the holidays.
The potluck Canadian dinner at the Fraser International College campus in Burnaby, was attended by students from all over the world, including Iran, China, Libya and Kazakhstan.
University officials said they hoped to bring the Christmas spirit to students missing their families and provide "a little bit of love and warmth this time of year."
"This is about making a home away from home," said Principal Christa Ovenell. "We can't be mum and dad, but we can be their friends."
