The borough of Outremont says crews will have to repave a section of street they just finished, because of a botched job.
When workers added a fresh coat of pavement to Bloomfield Avenue, they went right around a Bixi stand, leaving a significant chunk of street with old asphalt.
Borough officials said crews were supposed to remove the bike stand, spread the asphalt and then replace the stand.
Outremont resident Daniel Bergeron said it’s not right that taxpayers will have to foot the bill for someone else’s sloppy work.
“It’s a loss of money for people who pay taxes. It’s a job not well done.”
Outremont officials said it’s not clear why workers didn’t remove the Bixi stand.
They said they hope to fix the situation in the next few days.
