Break out the stretchy pants, Toronto. All-you-can-eat poutine is coming to town.
PoutineVille, a popular Montreal-based chain of poutine-focused restaurants is poised to open their first location in the Big Smoke this summer, setting up shop in the city’s downtown Annex neighbourhood (by Bloor St. and Brunswick Ave.).
On Wednesday, the company shared a special sneak peek of what its new restaurant's interior will look like.
The sit-down restaurant will boast a menu that gives diners a choice to select from a list of specialty poutines or the option of creating their own wicked dishes from a list of “a la carte” ingredients.
Three types of cheeses in your personalized poutine? Sure. Extra veggies? Okay. Chunks of chopped Pogos as garnish? Why not.
PoutineVille is the brainchild of three friends, Tony Rea, Kosta Kariotakis, and Camillo Fresco who wanted to reinvent the way Quebec’s iconic dish is served to customers
Over the years, the company has gained a following for its $15 all-you-can-eat deal and its conspicuously-named “Heart Attack Challenge.”
So if you have a hankering for five pounds of fries topped with 10 pounds of ground beef, bacon, smoked ham, chicken, hot dogs, tomatoes, green peppers, mushrooms, onions, mozzarella, and curds under a thick layer of hot gravy — this is your place.
Here’s what the “Heart Attack” looks like:
And there’s also a poutine grilled cheese on the menu.
For those feeling peckish for something lighter, they offer salads too.
