Rain and gusty winds will taper off Tuesday night for a bit of a break on Wednesday, says CBC meteorologist Johanna Wagstaffe.

The seventh storm in the past week made for a very wet Tuesday across the B.C. South Coast, with heavy snow falling in the mountains and mountain passes. Snowfall warnings remain in place for Whistler, as do the special weather statements for the southern mountain highways.

Skies will continue to clear overnight for a mix of sun and cloud Wednesday, with the risk of a few showers. The final storm in the series will begin spreading rain across the South Coast once again starting Wednesday night with lingering showers through Thursday.

After Thursday, the weather pattern changes as a high-pressure ridge builds off the coast, bringing a much drier end to the weekend. Temperatures will be cooler Friday and Saturday, but will recover to potentially double digits early next week.
