Parti Québécois Minister Bernard Drainville says he will not participate in a debate at Concordia University on the secular charter planned for today because of a student protest.
The debate, set for today at noon, was supposed to involve representatives from each of Quebec's three political parties.
A social justice group on campus had planned to protest outside of the event.
Drainville, who is the minister responsible for the secular charter, said he pulled out over safety concerns.
More to come.
