Vancouver police are looking for the driver of a car who allegedly caused a number of pedestrians on a downtown sidewalk to run for their lives last Thursday.
Police say a northbound car driving erratically on Hornby Street around 9:30 a.m. PT, mounted the curb and travelled down the west sidewalk, narrowly missing several pedestrians before turning west on Dunsmuir Street.
Police have released video of the incident and are asking for help identifying the driver.
One man can be seen in the video approaching the car, described as a newer model Chevrolet Camaro convertible with a black top. He then tries to open the car door.
Investigators say they would like to speak to the man and anyone else who may have information that could help identify the driver.
Vancouver police say they don't know what caused the incident, but say it was clearly dangerous.
