Environment Canada says it's expecting a snowstorm on the Family Day long weekend that should hit around Sunday into Monday.
The timing, potential accumulations and affected areas are still not clear, but the weather service says the storm is headed directly at B.C's south coast and the southwest interior of the province.
Environment Canada says it will issue further information Friday and will update warnings within 24 hours of the first flurries.
While the details are still unclear, forecasters say they are confident this storm will 'greatly impact' the south coast and the southwest interior of the province.
"We suggest that everyone potentially affected by this storm through travel or otherwise begin making plans' b' and 'c' for the weekend," Environment Canada said in a written statement to meteorologists.
