Ontario's police watchdog is investigating an incident in which a 29-year-old man was struck by a cab in downtown Toronto while fleeing police on Sunday morning.
Toronto police say the man was struck at about 3:40 a.m., when he stepped in front of a cab on Adelaide Street West, near John Street.
The man suffered non-life threatening injuries in the collision.
Police say the province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) will be looking into the incident.
The SIU investigates all incidents involving police in which a person is killed, seriously injured, or when allegations of sexual assault are raised.
