A controversial pick-up artist and anti-feminist blogger had a drink thrown in his face in Montreal on Friday.

Daryush Valizadeh, better known as Roosh V, is an American who promotes "neomasculinity" with online videos which feature proclamations like "if we legalize rape, women will be more careful with their bodies" and "fat girls are simply unattractive." A petition calling for a ban on his entry into Canada had been circulating online.

Valizadeh's pending Montreal seminar was condemned by both Quebec Justice Minister Stephanie Vallee and Montreal mayor Denis Coderre for being akin to hate speech against women. Valizadeh came to Montreal anyway to conduct his workshop despite the condemnations and the 38,000-plus signature petition on Change.org.

The night before his Saturday seminar, Valizadeh entered a Montreal bar dressed in a wig, but was quickly called out. Concordia University news site TheConU obtained exclusive video of female guests shouting at Valizadeh and dousing him in beer before chasing him down the street. In the two-minute video, the women call him a "piece of shit" and say "How dare you fucking come to Montreal?" before announcing to the bar, "This is fucking Roosh V! This is the guy who thinks rape should be legal."

Afterwards, Valizadeh brushed off the encounter on Twitter:

But the woman who spilled the pint of beer on Valizadeh's head posted her own account of the night's events on Facebook, and says she knew of his identity and intentionally seduced him into the bar, writing, "I played your game the same way you teach it - and you lost":

However, even with his bar encounter, public denunciation and losing the venue space for his seminar, Valizadeh's workshop still took place in Montreal and he toasted to victory on Twitter.

Valizadeh is scheduled to run his next seminar in Toronto on Aug. 15, but the time and location remains unknown. CTV News reports Sara Parker-Toulson — the founder of the Change.org petition against Valizadeh — has called on Toronto mayor John Tory to condemn his upcoming appearance in the city.
