A kitten found emaciated, dehydrated, and caught in a rat trap is getting a second chance after being rescued in West Kelowna.
Lola, who is 10 weeks old, was found glued to a rat trap on Saturday. She had gotten caught in a tar-like goop and had likely been stuck for days before being brought to Rose Valley Veterinary Hospital, reported Castanet.

Lola's rescuer preferred to remain anonymous, the animal hospital told HuffPost B.C.
"All her body and all four legs were trapped... we got her just in the nick of time," veterinarian Dr. Moshe Oz told the outlet. "We gave her fluids, medication, and food — now we're looking for a good home."
Dr. Oz said that such cases are reminders for the public to consider more humane ways to trap unwanted guests.
In 2013, a rare spotted skunk was found with its paw caught in a rat trap. Despite best efforts to save the animal, gangrene set in and the critter had to be euthanized, according to the Wildlife Rescue Association.
