After one father became fed up with his kids’ mess, he decided to take action. Inspired by Liam Neeson’s character Bryan Mills in the movie “Taken,” the dad wrote a hilarious note threatening to take away his kids’ WiFi access and phone data plans if they didn’t shape up!

Posting his “Taken”-inspired note to Reddit, user labuzan wrote: “My teenagers refuse to put their dishes in the dishwasher. So I put this above the sink.”

The dad’s genius note is a reference to Neeson's character, a retired CIA agent who tracks down his daughter’s kidnappers using the skills he’s acquired over the years. If you need a refresher, here’s Neeson’s infamous phone speech from the movie:

After Redditor labuzan uploaded his discipline tactic to the site, it quickly received hundreds of positive comments from other users. “Rather clever and awesome!” one wrote. “I will have to ‘borrow’ this idea for things other than dishes... i.e. doing their laundry, cleaning up the bathroom.”

Another simply said: “That is epic!”

The Reddit post then spurred on conversations of how users and their parents deal with untidy kids. “I just take their dirty dishes from the sink and place them on their bed. They got the point pretty fast,” one said.

Another shared an anecdote, saying, “My mom would leave me and my siblings’ laundry dirty if we didn't clean up. We started doing our own laundry, this resulted in chaos because the machine would always be running a load. We united and traded duties doing our laundry and our mom started doing the dishes... Well played.”

Parents are always coming up with clever tactics to get their kids to clean up, but we must say that this “Taken”-inspired note is by far our favourite!
