Neil Young's criticism of the oilsands has hit a nerve with many Albertans, and some are taking to social media to give the rock star a piece of their mind.
Residents of Fort McMurray responded to Young, who has famously said that "Fort McMurray looks like Hiroshima," by taking stunning photos around town and posting them on Twitter with the hashtag #MyHiroshima.
While most posted photos of the beautiful Alberta wilderness, animals, and campsites, not everyone was impressed with the response.
Young, who is currently on a Canadian tour to support the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation that lives downstream from the oilsands, has heavily criticized the Harper government and oilsands development.

Using the Hiroshima tragedy for political gain is offensive regardless of which side of the fence you are on. Pls stop using #myhiroshima

This #myhiroshima hashtag is a bit insensitive. Neil Young was simply comparing images of the oilsands not the city of #ymm
