But what happens when you take songs that have already been penned and change the lyrics to ones better suited for the prairie province?
As several Twitter users demonstrated recently, using the hashtag #albertalyrics, you get a hilarious and somewhat scathing commentary about the state of affairs in the province. No topics were off limits - everything from the provincial budget, to a questionable piece of public art and the Edmonton Oilers struggling hockey franchise were poked fun at.
