Pooper scoopers are wanted for a new pilot project in Alberta's Jasper National Park.
Volunteers will collect samples of bear droppings over the summer to help biologists studying the park's grizzly population, says Parks Canada.
All "scat seekers" would be trained, naturally, before being sent into the park to hunt for dung. They'll put samples a vial and snap a picture on their smartphone — which, of course, will have the official scat seeker app.
(The app, by the way, has the catchy slogan: Find It. Scoop It. Submit It.)
Researchers will be looking at data including the GPS location of the poop's original resting place.
"Who knew that poo could reveal so much?" says the Parks Canada posting.
If being a scooping poop isn't your thing, Parks Canada is also looking for volunteers to teach visitors about caribou and to help keep the park clean.
