Steady rain will continue until late Wednesday evening when a cold front arrives, says CBC meteorologist Johanna Wagstaffe.
A general 18 mm to 25 mm has already fallen across Vancouver since it began Tuesday morning, with another 10 mm to 20 mm Wednesday afternoon and evening.
When the cold front moves through, winds will be gusty, then switch to come from the west. This westerly flow will keep showers in the forecast through Thursday and Friday, before a much stronger storm system arrives Friday into Saturday. Warnings may be issued by the time we get there.
Meanwhile, Wednesday's storm will also bring fresh snow and reduced visibility to the southern mountain passes in the evening with special weather statements in place.
