Not Even The Polar Vortex Could Stop This Wedding (PHOTO)

Freezing temperatures, lack of running water and zero electricity is not exactly a recipe for a fun wedding, but one Canadian couple still managed to say "I Do," despite Mother Nature's attempt to stop them.

Samantha Branton and Nick Collett have known each other since they were 14. They got engaged three years ago and were set to tie the knot on Saturday, January 4 in Chance Cove, Newfoundland, The Telegram reported.

But weather conditions in North America this past week have been freezing thanks to the "polar vortex." Newfoundland was no exception, and on the day of Branton and Collet's wedding, temperatures were below freezing, the power was out and there was no running water.

"You could actually see your breath as we were speaking, and everybody was shivering," Branton told St. John's Morning Show host Anthony Germain on Monday.

"My complication was getting a shower," said the groom, explaining that without water he had to bathe in two-and-a-half inches of melted snow. And as for guests, only 30 of the 160 that were invited could actually make it due to the weather conditions.

That didn't stop the couple from walking down the aisle though. As Samantha explained to The Telegram, “I called (Nick) and said, 'Do you want to cancel it?' He said, 'No, I don't want to cancel it.' And I said, 'Well, I don't really want to either.'”

Despite the setbacks and freezing cold, the bride glowed on her Big Day. This photo was posted to Reddit by her wedding photographer on Monday, captioned, "Newfoundlanders don't let the lack of power, polar vortex or bad weather cancel their weddings."

Newfoundlanders don't let the lack of power, polar vortex or bad weather cancel their weddings...

The Colletts are not the first to brave bad weather conditions to get hitched. This Kansas couple almost didn't make it to their wedding due to a blizzard that left them trapped in different cities.

And these couples used less-than-ideal weather conditions to create amazing wedding photos, thanks to their photographers.
