TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs honoured former player, head coach and general manager Pat Quinn prior to their game against the Washington Capitals at Air Canada Centre on Saturday night.

Quinn, who died at the age of 71 in Vancouver on Sunday following a long illness, played in 99 games for Toronto from 1968-1970, coached the team from 1998-2006, and served as the Leafs' GM from 1999-2003.

The Maple Leafs held a moment of silence for the Hamilton, Ont., native followed by a video montage of memorable clips from Quinn's playing and coaching careers prior to the singing of the national anthems.

Toronto players wore a patch — a green clover with Quinn's initials in white — on the shoulder of their jerseys.

Quinn also held coaching and executive titles with the Vancouver Canucks, Philadelphia Flyers, Los Angeles Kings, and Edmonton Oilers. Internationally, he guided Canadian Olympic, World Cup, world junior and under-18 teams to gold medals.
