Up to 100 mm of rain for B.C.'s South Coast over next week

Showers and low visibility will continue Tuesday evening, with heavier rain moving in overnight, says CBC meteorologist Johanna Wagstaffe.

The second round of rain will begin through Wednesday, bringing a good 10 mm to 20 mm to B.C.'s South Coast.

More Pacific systems are lined up for the end of the week and into the weekend for continued wet and windy weather. Temperatures will remain fairly steady, between 5 C to 8 C, all week.

The air in the higher layers of the atmosphere is beginning to cool, so snow should fall above 1,000 m to 1,200 m elevation. That is still a touch on the mild side for this year.

The weekend may bring melting snow and as much as 60 mm to 100 mm of rain over the next seven days, so we will be watching the forecast closely for flooding potential.
