Two people were busted carrying out a sex act on the 504 King streetcar in Toronto on Thursday, according to Twitter users who said they were there.

The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) tweeted the following at 5:30 p.m. ET:

That tweet was soon followed by this one, in which the user said the streetcar had been stopped due to "sexual activity."

The TTC later tweeted to say that service was back to normal.

But Robin Lobb's wasn't the only tweet to suggest some TTC passengers were carrying out a sex act on public transit.

Twitter user Adam Owen said he was on the streetcar when the alleged act took place. He said it was a "handjob."

Toronto Sun reporter Don Peat later tweeted what the TTC told him about the incident.

Meanwhile, Newstalk 1010 spoke with TTC spokesman Brad Ross, who said the incident was only reported, not confirmed.

The alleged act nevertheless spawned a hashtag, #TorontoStreetcarSex, in which users made a series of crude jokes.

Even Brad Ross himself seems to have weighed in on the incident, though he could have just been talking about a TTC town hall which was to take place Thursday night.

Here's a collection of tweets under the hashtag, #TorontoStreetcarSex:

It's not the first time that people have been reported carrying out sexual activity on Toronto's public transit system.

In 2011, a couple was caught having sex on a subway car before they continued on the platform at Spadina subway station, the Toronto Sun reported.
