Here are a few suggestions from CBC Radio One's On The Coast for getting out to make the most of the last weekend of summer in Metro Vancouver:

1) Frank Hurt Playground Opening & Robert Davidson Public Art Unveiling

- Saturday, September 20th, 11 a.m.

- Frank Hurt Park (76th Avenue & 138 Street, Surrey)

Ever since their son Devon was stabbed to death near Frank Hurt Park in Surrey back in 2011, Cynthia Allaire-Bell and Wayne Bell have been working to make the park safer.

After an emotional process that involved support from the community, Frank Hurt Secondary School and the City of Surrey, the park is set for its grand re-opening tomorrow.

A new work by renowned artist Robert Davidson is the centrepiece of the renewed park.
