Olivia Chow is rolling out a pair of radio advertisements on Monday, both of which focus on her desire to see change in the city sooner rather than later.
A news release says the ads "speak about the urgency of acting now," whether on transit, jobs or student nutrition. Now, it seems, is the key word in Chow’s messages.
In one of the ads, Chow uses the word "now" four times, while in a second ad focused on commuters, Chow says "now" only once while other voices use the word another half-dozen times.
In both ads, which can be accessed on Chow's website, the narrator ends with: "Olivia Chow: Real progress, now."
Chow stepped down as the MP for the Toronto riding of Trinity-Spadina so that she could pursue a mayoral bid.
She is one of the most high-profile candidates running for mayor. Others include former city councillor David Soknacki, former Ontario PC leader John Tory and the incumbent Mayor Rob Ford. In total, there are dozens of people seeking to be elected mayor on Oct. 27.
