A 73-year-old man is dead after being struck by a vehicle in the east end of Toronto on Tuesday afternoon.
The pedestrian was struck at the Victoria Park Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East intersection just after 3 p.m.
Toronto EMS said the man was rushed to hospital with serious head trauma.
Police said the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene but it was too early to determine the sequence of events.
The roads remained closed for several hours this evening as a police reconstruction unit probed the scene.
The name of the victim has not been released.
