Police have arrested a 23-year-old man that they say was driving at over 150 km/h during a pursuit in the West Island.
The man was spotted by police just after 3 a.m. ET, speeding on Highway 20 near St-Jean Boulevard in Pointe-Claire.
“Police officers tried to intercept that vehicle but he got away. He was intercept on Pine Avenue in Beaconsfield and during the intervention the suspect collided with two police cars,” said Const. Danny Richer of the Montreal police.
Richer said no one was hurt and the police cruisers were not heavily damaged, although one lost a bumper.
He said the suspect was recorded going more than 150 km/h.
The suspect is expected to face charges, including driving under the influence and dangerous driving.
