Here are his picks for the weekend of Dec. 20, 21 and 22.
1. Cirque du Soleil returns to the Bell Centre for the holiday season. This time, Cirque brings home Varekai. It was created in Montreal in 2002. It has since been presented over 3,500 times in front of more than six million people. Until Dec. 30.
2. Les 7 doigts de la main is another very successful circus arts company from Montreal. Their critically acclaimed show Traces features 7 talented acrobats who also dance, sing, and act. The show's at La Tohu until Jan. 4.
3. Montreal's top Jewish and Muslim stand-up comics come together once again for the 4th edition of Kosher Jokes for the Halaladays. Catch it at The Comedy Nest, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m.
4. Michel Legrand is a legendary French composer. He has written over 200 film and television scores. He performs alongside Les Violons du Roy and soprano Natalie Dessay at La Maison Symphonique on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
5. CBC Radio's The Vinyl Café with Stuart McLean rolls into town at Théâtre Maisonneuve for its Christmas Concert Tour, with musical guest The Good Lovelies. That's on Monday at 7:30 p.m.
