MONCTON, N.B. - RCMP officers are scouring a field and a wooded area in Moncton, N.B., close to where officers arrested a man charged with killing three of their colleagues.
A few dozen Mounties are searching for clues behind the residential area where suspected gunman Justin Bourque was apprehended Friday.
Bourque is facing three charges of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder in the shootings of five RCMP officers.
The rampage forced authorities to lock down part of the city for around 30 hours as police tried to locate Bourque.
The 24-year-old suspect gave himself up to police on the lawn of a home not far from the field.
The three Mounties were gunned down and two other wounded Wednesday as a gunman held terrified locals under siege.
