Loblaws Recalls Outdoor LED Christmas Lights Sold Across Canada

Loblaws is recalling three outdoor Christmas light products that were sold to customers across Canada in recent months.

The company says three types of Life at Home LED 70-count outdoor Christmas lights should not be used by customers, as there are concerns the lights could have loose or exposed wires and pose risk of electric shock, electrocution or fire.

No injuries have been reported, but Loblaws says the health and safety of its customers is "paramount," which is why the company is voluntarily recalling the products.

The lights affected by the recall were sold in strings of white, blue and multi-colour bulbs — images of which can be viewed in the photo gallery at the top of this page.

In Atlantic Canada, the lights were sold at Save Easy, Fresh Mart and the Atlantic Superstore. In Newfoundland, they were sold at Dominion stores.

In Quebec, the lights were sold at Loblaws, Maxi & Cie, Maxi, Club Entrepot and Provigo.

In Ontario, the lights were sold at Loblaws, Fortinos, Extra Foods, Freshmart, no frills, the Real Canadian Wholesale Club, the Real Canadian Superstore, Your Independent Grocer, Zehrs and at Apex.

In Western Canada, the lights were sold at Extra Foods, No Frills, Shop Easy, SuperValu, Real Canadian Wholesale Club, Real Canadian Superstore and Your Independent Grocer.

Loblaws says its customers can return the lights for a full refund, without receipt, by taking them to the customer service desk at any of their stores. Alternatively, customer service representatives can be reached at 1-800-296-2332, or by email at customerservice@loblaws.ca.
