A 17-year-old woman is facing a charge of assault with a weapon after a young man suffered a stab wound to his arm while on the SkyTrain system Saturday night.
Transit Police spokeswoman Anne Drennan said officers were called to the Nanaimo SkyTrain Station at around 11 p.m. PT after someone pressed the emergency call button on the train about one station to the east, in the area of 29th Street Station.
Drennan said two young women and three young men, who did not know each other, had been involved in a scuffle.
One of the young women allegedly pulled a knife and stabbed one of the men in the arm. He was taken to hospital for treatment.
A 17-year-old girl was taken into custody, police say.
Drennan said the investigation is ongoing.
