Police in Vancouver are looking for a man who sexually assaulted an elderly woman as she was walking along Oak Street last week.
The Vancouver Police Department says the 85-year-old was attacked shortly after 7:30 a.m. PT on Sunday, April 20, while walking in the area of West 54th Avenue.
She was approached from behind by a man who then groped and fondled her.
The man fled the area on foot and the woman went home, where she called police.
Const. Brian Montague said the woman did not suffer any physical injuries as a result of the assault, she was very shaken by the incident.
Video surveillance recorded in the area recorded images of one individual, who police have identified as a person of interest.
"While the photograph is blurry and grainy, we believe if someone knows this person, they will recognize them whether it's the clothing or something unique about him," Montague said.
The VPD's sex crimes unit has set up a tip line for this incident at 604-717-0600.
