Golf returns to Toronto, despite chilly weather

Toronto's five municipal golf courses open this weekend in the midst of an April cold spell. 

The grey skies and single-digit temperatures are not exactly prime golf weather, so the city-owned courses are offering special twilight rates till the end of the month.

Here are details of the five courses:

Dentonia Park Golf Course: 18-hole par 3/par 54
781 Victoria Park Ave., 416-392-2558 (Victoria Park Station)

Don Valley Golf Course: 18-hole regulation/par 72
4200 Yonge St., 416-392-2465 (York Mills Station to 97 Yonge bus north – or a short walk)

Humber Valley Golf Course: 18-hole regulation/par 70
40 Beattie Ave., 416-392-2488 (Wilson Station to 96 Wilson bus)

Scarlett Woods Golf Course: 18-hole executive/par 62
1000 Jane St., 416-392-2484 (Jane Station to 35 Jane bus north)

Tam O'Shanter Golf Course: 18-hole regulation/par 72
2481 Birchmount Rd., 416-392-2547 (Warden Station to 17 Birchmount bus north)
