The sun shone briefly as hundreds waited in the rain to catch a glimpse of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in Auckland on Friday.
Kate Middleton, wearing a navy Zara blazer paired with a striped shirt, stepped off the plane at Whenuapai Royal New Zealand Air Force base looking casual and comfortable with her hubby by her side.
Also spotted: her signature skinny jeans and Russell and Bromley wedges.
On the fifth day of their much-hyped tour, the royal couple squared off in competing America’s Cup yachts for a friendly race in Waitemata Harbour. The duo were each given a chance to steer their respective vessels – an activity the Duke hinted his excitement for earlier.
Prince William told New Zealand Prime Minister John Key on Thursday he expected “a bit of healthy competition” from his wife.
While the Duke was talking up his yachting game to Parliamentarians, his wife was busy turning heads as she made her way around the room in a stunning black Jenny Packham dress adorned with silver ferns across her shoulder.
Too bad fortune had another plan in store for the Duke: his wife beat him across the finish line – twice.
As for the royal babe, Prince George did not accompany his parents, likely keeping dry by staying indoors.
