The search has been called off for a missing 76-year-old woman in North Vancouver, officials said.
RCMP and North Shore Rescue had been searching for Joan Warren since she left her seniors' residence in the 900 block of Lynn Valley Road in North Vancouver at 9 a.m. PT Friday morning. She suffers from dementia.
"Members conducted a thorough search of high probability areas this morning, and unfortunately were unable to find Joan," a statement on the North Shore Rescue website read Sunday afternoon.
"At this point in time, in consultation with the North Vancouver RCMP, North Shore Rescue is officially standing down unless/until new information is received on her whereabouts."
On Saturday, as police and crews searched, Warren's family launched an energetic campaign to find her — handing out pamphlets and canvassing community members to keep an eye out for the missing senior.
Warren is described as a Caucasian female, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and slim.
She was last seen wearing a turquoise jacket and black pants and is capable of walking unassisted.
