Authorities are increasing the flood watch area in Quebec, as water levels rise along with spring temperatures.

The Saint-François and Nicolette Rivers in the Eastern Townships were added to the watch list Sunday morning after levels increased overnight.

The Yamaska River and most streams in the Montérégie and the Richelieu Valley are still under flood watch.

A flood warning is also still in effect for the Acadia River due to ice jams less than one kilometre from a bridge on Highway 10.

In the Carignan area, farmland and roads were flooded Saturday causing traffic to be diverted in some places.

The flood warning has been downgraded for some rivers — including the Turtle River and the Huron River — where the banks overflowed, forcing at least one family from its home.

In Lanaudière, authorities are warning residents who live near the Assomption River in Joliette to be on alert because water levels are expected to increase this week.
