Snowfall assisted the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary in Corner Brook with the arrest of a 20-year-old man for an attempted break and enter early Sunday morning.
RNC responded to a complaint around 4 a.m. of a man attempting to break into an apartment complex on Main Street.
By the time police arrived at the scene, the suspect had left the area.
However, officers followed footprints left in the freshly-fallen snow to find the man had allegedly been attempting to enter several other businesses in the Commercial Street area.
Police finally caught up to him on Park Street and arrested him.
The suspect was held in custody. It’s believed several other charges will be laid when the investigation is completed.
