Dozens of people attended a memorial for a murdered Kelowna woman as a way to honour the mother and remind people that her death, one year later, has still not been solved.
Tiffany Goruk and Jeremy Snow were found dead in an SUV in February 2013. While their deaths first appeared to be caused by a car crash, police later determined it was a double homicide.
Goruk's stepmom, Heather Rippel, helped organize the first annual Tiffany's Angel Run over the weekend.
"The walk went amazing," Rippel told The Huffington Post B.C. in an email. "Even though it was calling for rain, the sun came out and blessed us all with blue skies."
Snow, who was 33, was a convicted drug smuggler. Goruk did not have a criminal record and was the mother of two young boys.
"This has ripped a family apart," Goruk's mom Hillary wrote on the run's website. "Her babies will never feel the love of their mother and I will never have peace in my life or be able to put my baby to final rest. If you have any information please contact the police."

The route took them up Knox Mountain in Kelowna, which Goruk loved to hike, the website states. Rippel said just over 80 people participated, all dressed in white Tiffany's Angel Run T-shirts that had angel wings printed on the back.
They also brought 32 white balloons to commemorate how old Goruk would have just turned if she were alive today.
"When we got to the end of the trail, down by the water, we released the balloons with our wishes attached," Rippel said. "After, we were all down and in our cars, the skies opened up and down came the rain!"
