During a Games overshadowed by Russia's involvement in neighbouring Ukraine, Canada's Paralympic athletes had plenty to celebrate.

We took home 16 medals this year: seven gold, two silver and seven bronze.

Visually impaired cross-country skier Brian McKeever, who won two gold medals, made Paralympic history as the first Canadian Winter Paralympian to have won 10 golds during his career.

He won his first gold in Sochi after a dramatic race in which he fell to the snow near the start but managed to get back up and overtake his competitors.

Canada's youngest athlete at this year's Games, 16-year-old skier Mac Marcoux, put in an impressive performance, winning two bronze medals in the visually impaired super-G and downhill.

Gold and silver medallist Josh Dueck was chosen as this year's flag bearer for Canada.
