Toronto police are asking for the public’s help finding a violent offender who has been on the run since December, and who evaded capture after a car chase earlier this week.
Police have been looking for Brown since Dec. 21 when they were called to Bluffer’s Park in Scarborough — where a 33-year-old woman told them she had just escaped after being held captive for three days by Brown and three women.
She was suffering obvious injuries, say police, and the suspects had allegedly beaten her repeatedly.
Brown, 43, and the others evaded police at the time, though one of the women was later arrested.
On March 10, police say they spotted a car associated with Brown near Danforth and Greenwood Avenues. Brown refused to pull over, there was a chase, police lost him, found him again when his vehicle crashed into a nearby building, and then lost him again.
The chase ended when the police cruiser was involved in an accident with a second car, according to Const. David Hopkinson
Brown’s prior convictions include drugs, guns and assaults. Police say he should be considered armed and dangerous.
"This guy is a bad guy," said Hopkinson. "A very violent man and very dangerous."
"He remains on the loose. There’s no telling what mischief he's up to and he's absolutely not willing to stop for police," Hopkinson added.
