A former Montreal resident and his wife are listed as the two Canadians passengers on a missing Malaysia Airlines flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.
Muktesh Mukherjee, 42, was living in Beijing with his 37-year-old wife, Xiaomo Bai.
Mukherjee’s LinkedIn profile lists him as vice-president of China operations for Xcoal Energy and Resources, a position he had held since May 2012.
Mukherjee’s Twitter page notes that he’s “still adjusting to life in the Middle Kingdom.”
His Facebook page includes numerous photos of his wife and him with two young children.
Photos on Xiaomo Bai’s Facebook page show her and Mukherjee at a resort in Vietnam dated as recently as March 5.
A former colleague of Mukherjee who did not want to be identified said he did his MBA and several internships at McGill University. Mukherjee and Xiaomo Bai were married at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Montreal in 2002.
The colleague said Mukherjee held previous jobs with Iron Ore and Ispat Sidbec / Mittal Canada. He had previously resided in Chicago before moving to Beijing.
