A multi-vehicle crash has shut down a portion of Highway 400, south of Barrie.
Late Wednesday morning, the Ontario Provincial Police tweeted that its officers were responding to a crash in the southbound lanes of Highway 400, just south of Innisfil Beach Road.
They subsequently tweeted that “major injuries” have resulted from the crash.
As of noon on Wednesday, the highway was closed in both directions between Highway 89 and Innisfil Beach Road.
Last week, a pileup involving 96 vehicles shut down the same stretch of Highway 400 for hours.
